GENERATION REPAIR

Generation Repair Project

Tenor Kameron Locke and dancer Thomias Radin played the role of Morpheus, the god of reflection and sleep, using the tonalities and movements of free jazz and Western classical music. Improvised song and dance merged in sync with the spirit of Michael and Princess Küppers-Adebisi's libretto, while composer Julie Kny used sounds and musical elements to enhance the exchange. Opposite Locke's Morpheus is MFA Kera and Anita Castro's Yemenja, the Yoruba goddess of birth and water. In two solos and a duet, the four negotiated physical, sonic and metaphysical encounters of their respective mythologies in the midst of the audience surrounding them.
